Anyway, here's a sweet picture of our adorable little lady during her second week of life:
And another (because I just can't take - or share - enough!):
A lot of people have been wondering how Fudge has been with her, and we are happy to report that she's been great. She hasn't even hissed once at Elliott, and usually just sort of watches her curiously and rather cautiously. She's also been acting extra sweet, doing belly flops left and right to make sure that Ryan and I don't forget about her:
Yesterday Elliott and I read our first book together, Black on White by Tana Hoban. She totally dug it! It was so cool watching her big eyes scanning each picture, and I couldn't help but get a bit teary. I so hope she loves reading as much as I do! Here are the books on Elliott's bookshelf (a collection which is only going to grow and grow!):
High contrast books are so good for babies at Elliot's age. Evie LOVED Olivia books and Sandra Boynton books when she was really little. (She still likes them a lot but has broadened her horizons to other things.)
ReplyDeleteAs for midnight feedings... I used to nurse Evie in bed so I could sleep, and then Scott would put her back in her crib when she finished... but man, if you can pump enough to keep her satisfied so you don't have to wake up at all, that is so freaking awesome. (Well and the fact that when Evie was Elliot's age, we just had one room and her crib was right next to our bed didn't help. I was waking up every time she cried.)
Evie also loves "Where's my Bellybutton". Anything that involves lifting flaps that uncover treasures are simply amazing to her.
