We recently got back from a wonderful trip to visit my parents in NJ, where I haven't been in over a year. We managed to beat the snow by leaving a day early (which was fortunate considering our original flight ended up being canceled.) Ellie was extremely restless on the airplane but only officially broke down one time, when I disappeared to go to the bathroom. Fellow passengers even commented on her good behavior (as well as her adorableness!) We saw a ton of friends and family and even got to see my very best friend Amy and meet her son, six-month old Jack. Ellie took a particular liking to my dad - her Pop-pop - and I know he was quite flattered by all the attention. My mom also celebrated her 60th birthday while we were visiting, and I know she couldn't have asked for a better present than being with her granddaughter. Elliott also impressed us with her ability to climb an entire flight of stairs (with me spotting her, of course.) It was her first encounter with more than one step!
It was sad to leave NJ, but I'm thrilled to have returned to such gorgeous weather here in Texas. It certainly softens the blow!
I still have to sort through a whole bunch of photos and put them in Picasa, but here is a short video to tide you over...
