This past month saw some important landmarks for our baby. She grew out of her infant car seat and is now sitting face-forward in a toddler seat (there's a picture in the slide show that shows just how comfortable it is!) She started to point to things, most often in the books we read. Speaking of books, sometimes she anticipates certain sounds in her favorites and "says" them before I do. She enjoys passing a ball back and forth, and even has decent aim. When in the mood, she delights in giving high fives. She took her first plane ride, all the way to NJ, and no one wanted to throw us out the window. She can get up and down a step with ease (though there is still sometimes a bit of toppling over on the way down) and she climbed an entire flight of stairs twice while we were on vacation. Ryan, in all his patience, taught her how to fall asleep on her own at night, and after a few evenings of lots of heart-wrenching tears, she's now a bedtime pro who rarely wakes up in the wee hours of the morning screaming for us. She also got her first haircut, a dismal bang "trim" executed by yours truly (pictured below), which was later rectified by her steady-handed father. We are just so proud of our little monkey, and we love her to pieces!
Elliott Rose - The 10th Month
Happy 10 months Elliot! Time does fly by so fast with little ones. I love the pictures Stephanie! Hope that you two are feeling better soon. Wynn and I have had the sniffles this week too.
ReplyDeleteOh!! I love her bangs!! So cute.
ReplyDeletesteph- she shouldn't be forward facing yet. she needs to be 20lbs AND 1 year of age. you should you the toddler seat in the rear facing position til she turns 1. its a pain but those are the recommendations
ReplyDeletesorry steph, i was the anonymous post, couldn't figure out how to leave my name. i love all the pictures from the trip and i love her little bangs. she's even cuter in person and i'm so glad i finally got to meet her,
ReplyDeleteAn amendment for friends and family who may be concerned about the car seat like my wise friend Karen was - we are currently switching it to rear facing. Duh, I had no idea the thing could go backwards. Alas - we had our one week of heaven. Sorry, Ellie, only two more months to go!
ReplyDelete2nd amendment - Thank you guys for the WAAAAAY too kind sentiments about Elliott's bangs, but please be aware that she does not sport them in a combed straight down fashion, like in the photo. We camouflage them by swiping them to the side! I still can't believe I turned my own baby into one of the guys from "Dumb and Dumber!"
ReplyDeleteWow! She's made so much progress. Enjoy it. Next year at this time she'll be plotting for the maximum "treats" she can get, she'll love Miss Kitty to death, and she'll want to wear her ballerina costume everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs for real. They are too cute. Let's see some more pics with the new haircut!
