"my muse!"

I should probably be concerned that my daughter's favorite song is a subversive rock anthem titled "Uprising" off of Muse's album The Resistance.  I first noticed her passion for the song a few months ago while driving around in the car and catching a glimpse of her in the rear-view mirror - brows knit, head shaking side to side, hands clapping, and singing along to the chorus: "They will not force us!  They will stop degrading us!  They will not control us!  We will be victorious!"  It was hilarious, to say the least.  Nowadays she asks to hear it repeatedly, calling it "my Muse song," or simply "my Muse!"

I finally put the album on her iPod, which prior to today had been filled only with kid songs, classical music, and show tunes - boring!  She was so excited to dance around to her favorite song this morning, and of course I had to capture her wild moves on video.  (One day I have to catch her singing along, but she usually reserves this for car rides and it's sort of difficult to drive and take video footage at the same time.  Safety first!)

And of course when it's all over, she asks me to play it again? again? as usual.  Can't say I blame her.  As you might guess from me annoyingly singing along, I'm rather partial to the song myself!

  2. Ok, this video is too cute. As if the random "yea!"'s and "yay"'s, the dancing (in particular, I enjoyed the moves between 1:45 and 2:15!), the crazy ball of energy that is Ellie, and the "muse" chanting weren't enough...then she goes and makes it THE MOST adorable video by ending it with the last 5 seconds, the cheeks and the "again, again" would have been enough alone to make an aunt melt. Wow! Let's talk this weekend please! I am taking my free day off on Monday so I will have two 4 day weeks in a row, so need the break! Love you!!!!
