the littlest dwarf

Earlier this week, my mom and I took the girls to the Garden State Discovery Museum to play a bit and to watch their production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We had taken the girls to see another play there and thought they did a fantastic job, so we were pretty psyched to see this show. Little did we know that Elliott would be performing on stage as one of the seven dwarfs!

As soon as we walked through the auditorium doors and sat down, one of the actors asked Ellie if she'd like to be in the show. I'm sure she didn't exactly know what she was agreeing to, but she said yes, put on her costume (a HUGE blue tee-shirt), and waited until the dwarfs were called up on stage. At that point, we nudged her through the crowded audience (I thought this might freak her out, but no!) and she hopped up on stage. There she remained until the end of the show, the littlest dwarf, looking somewhat confused yet strangely unfazed. At the show's end she got to bow with the cast and receive her well-earned applause! (I think she actually bowed facing the wrong direction, and then broke into wild clapping, as you will see from the final video below).

I was so proud of my little girl for participating up there and doing such a good job following directions. She did have one thing to say about the experience when I asked her what she thought of being in her very first play: "Mom, I really didn't like when my hat kept falling off." It's a good thing she was wearing piggy tails, or she may have indeed been blinded by that hat!

Posing with the cast (and the aforementioned hat!) after the show

And now I present Elliott Rose, the actress!
