potty progress & some darn cute videos!

Elliott has been getting cuter and cuter by the day, I swear.  On the 12th, she turned a whopping 20 months old, which is inconceivable!  I just can't believe in four months time my wee one is going to be 2 years old.  It simply boggles the mind!

As you might have guessed from the title of this post, Ellie made a bit of progress on the potty front.  Not only is she sitting in it facing the right direction, but the other night when she and I took off her diaper, sat her down, and started reading her favorite potty book, aptly titled Potty, she actually peed in it!  She was in shock, and so was I!  She just looked down like, what's going on down there?  It was so awesome!  There have been no repeat performances (it was basically a right time, right place thing, methinks) but at least we know it's possible now.

Here are some super sweet videos of our 20-month-old, since I kept everyone waiting for so long (sorry, I've been a bit...shall we say, under the weather?)  In this one, she is singing her praises to one of her favorite foods - cheese!  Be sure to stay tuned for the best line: "Cheese...oh!"

"Cheese...oh!"

This next video shows just how much she and her "Pop-pop" (whose name she now repeats over and over again) love each others' company.  Nice job, Dad.  Get her all riled up right before bed!

Winding down before bedtime

This final video is arguably our funniest to date.  As always, she was in a gloriously happy mood after her bath, and proceeded to celebrate by performing the "kitchen dance" (she also provided the music for said dance.)  Check out her sweet moves!

The kitchen dance!

  3. PS-Yay for the potty! Isabella did the same and it wasn't long after that things got going. She'll be potty trained before you know it!

  4. Thanks for the update. I'd been thinking lately that it had been too long since we'd heard from you! Simeon also loves cheese and spinning in circles. I wouldn't call it dancing, though, I think he just like the getting dizzy part!
