One final sister photo shoot in the DC apartment!
In case you're wondering how the great migration to Jersey went, here's the story...Ryan managed to convince (or rather sucker) his brother, sister-in-law, and niece into coming from TX to help us out with the move. All went well for the first day or two of their visit (lots of catching up and DC sightseeing) until little Rylan came down with the flu or something equally menacing. I, being the paranoid germaphobe I am, decided to flee the scene a day early with the kiddos in the hopes of keeping them healthy (so far, so good!)
Cousin Rylie (prior to feeling awful) and Ellie having fun at the zoo!
The suckers (I mean, helpers) taking in the DC sights
The next day, Ryan and the gang hauled the trailer to the house, and many hours later had deposited most of our belongings into our completely unlivable new house (really dirty, no electricity or plumbing, and tools and crap everywhere.)
All I can say is THANK YOU Steve, Gail, and especially Rylie, the biggest trooper of all. You guys are amazing and hopefully we can make it up to you in the future! Hope you enjoyed your visit despite all the physical labor and illness!
And now onto the second part of this post. So, it's obvious that Zoey has been ready to eat solids for some time now. She's got two teeth already and is always messing with our plates and utensils, and she sort of hits herself like a chimpanzee when she sees food. I've been totally putting off the whole solid feeding thing (just like I've been putting off potty-training Ellie) because of the big move. Well, today I decided that even though we're not settled or feeling quite ready to take on a new routine, we just couldn't put it off any longer. Just as I suspected, Zoey took to eating like a fish takes to water; the second I held out the spoonful of drippy rice cereal, she grabbed it and stuck it in her mouth, then just kept going back for more! What a blast to watch her have such a good time eating! (By the way, the whole time we were feeding her, Ellie was running around complaining that she doesn't want Zoey to grow up. Jeesh!)
It's about time you fed me real food, Mom!
I hate moving!! How nice of Ryan's brother to come help though! Soon you will be in that house and loving all the space. :) And that picture of Zoey and Ellie is ADORABLE!!!!!!!! Cutest little sisters EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I love getting your comments:) Yes, I am so very stressed with this move, but know it will be worth it in the end. I need to take more pics of the "progress" and post em. Hope you are well and miss you tons!!
