No use going into detail about this one. Even if you've never gone through the name changing process, you can probably easily imagine what a pain in the neck it is! But, oh, how worth it it is when you're going from "Swartz" (ugh!) to "Middleton" (ahh!) So I will diligently fill out piles of paperwork and make dozens of phone calls and sit for hours at the DMV on my one day off and come out the other side with a lovely princess-sounding name!
On a different note, Ryan's grandparents, the amazing Bill and Betty Middleton, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary tomorrow! Only problem? Their house is in Canton, TX, right in the middle of Hurricane Ike's evil tracks! It will probably be a "tropical depression" by the time we're driving, but I'm sorry, that still sounds freakishly scary! The weather report even called for "squalls," whatever they are (doesn't sounds like a good thing!) Unfortunately, Ryan thinks it's perfectly safe to tempt nature's wrath in this oh-so-careless way, so of course I'm going to accompany him as the good wifey I am. Please wish us luck and happy returns!
I SO remember all the name changing drama! I didn't realize it was such a big deal but it is. Good luck with all that and please be safe driving in all this crazy weather!
